Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD/LD)

Job Description

About the Opportunity

Search & Selection UK is recruiting for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a lovely, established two-bed children’s residential home in Basingstoke, supporting children and young people aged 5–18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD).

This is a fantastic opportunity to take over a well-established, fully staffed home that has achieved an Ofsted rating of Good in all areas.

You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced team, including a highly experienced Deputy Manager already in place, alongside qualified Level 3 and Level 4 residential childcare staff.

The organisation is passionate about developing its employees and offers genuine opportunities for career progression, including the potential to progress into a Dual Registered Manager position in the future.

Key Responsibilities

As the Registered Manager, you will:

  • Provide strong leadership and day-to-day management of the children’s residential home.
  • Maintain and build upon the home’s current Good Ofsted rating, striving for excellence in all areas.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, care and support for children and young people.
  • Lead, motivate and develop an established team of experienced residential childcare professionals.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments and positive behaviour support.
  • Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant children’s residential care legislation.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, local authorities and external professionals.
  • Promote a nurturing, safe and supportive environment where children can thrive.

About You

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (essential).
  • Ideally, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a willingness to work towards achieving this qualification.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or significant leadership experience within children’s residential care.
  • Experience supporting children with EBD and/or learning disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children’s residential care standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A child-centred approach and a genuine passion for improving young people’s lives.

Salary & Benefits

  • £60,000 basic salary.
  • 10% annual KPI performance bonus – potential additional £6,000.
  • Total potential annual earnings of £66,000.
  • Established two-bed home with a current Good Ofsted rating in all areas.
  • Fully staffed, experienced team with Level 3 and Level 4 qualified staff.
  • Highly experienced Deputy Manager already in place to provide support.
  • Career progression opportunities, including the potential to develop into a Dual Registered Manager role.
  • A company that actively encourages and supports staff development.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Manager looking for a well-supported home, an experienced team and an organisation that genuinely values professional development.

Rather than stepping into a home requiring significant recruitment or restructuring, you’ll be joining an established service with a strong foundation, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional care and continuing to improve outcomes for children.

With an attractive salary, performance-related bonus and future progression opportunities, this role offers both stability and long-term career development.
