Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We’re a small, 2-bed children’s home in Halesowen, supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). We’re looking for a hands-on, compassionate Deputy Manager to help lead our team and ensure every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
Your role:
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our home’s culture and ensuring the highest standards of care. You’ll:
- Support the Home Manager in daily operations, staff coordination, and leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate Residential Support Workers
- Help recruit, train, and develop staff to deliver the best possible care
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Ensure safeguarding policies are always followed and maintained
- Keep clear, accurate records and reports for inspections and regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate care
- Manage resources and budgets efficiently
- Step in for the Home Manager when needed to keep the home running smoothly
- Foster a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for children and staff alike
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in residential childcare, ideally with leadership responsibility
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- A resilient, professional, and child-focused approach
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
