About the Role
We’re seeking an exceptional Head of Service to join a well-established organisation providing high-quality residential and semi-independent services for children and young people across London.
This pivotal leadership role involves overseeing multiple services, ensuring outstanding outcomes, and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and strong leadership across the organisation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Registered Service Managers, Social Workers, and Registered Managers to deliver outstanding care and achieve excellent inspection outcomes.
- Provide strategic leadership across residential and semi-independent services, ensuring alignment with organisational vision and values.
- Oversee operational performance, compliance, and service development in line with Ofsted and legislative requirements.
- Foster effective multi-agency collaboration, ensuring holistic care planning and safeguarding.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, quality audits, and performance reviews.
- Support the development of new services and contribute to the organisation’s growth strategy.
- Champion safeguarding, equality, and trauma-informed practice across all services.
About You
- Proven experience managing both residential and semi-independent services for children and young people.
- Strong background in multidisciplinary leadership, including managing or working alongside social workers.
- Excellent understanding of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and best practice in children’s social care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams, inspire a culture of excellence, and stabilise challenging settings.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on operational expertise and a passion for improving outcomes for young people.
- Level 5 in Leadership & Management (Residential Childcare) or equivalent; Level 7 or Social Work qualification desirable.
