Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Job Description

Hours: Full-Time | Permanent | 2 on / 4 off Shift Pattern

Includes paid sleep-ins at £50 per night

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our supportive team in Wolverhampton. You will play a key role in providing care, guidance, and stability to children and young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting young people with their daily routines, including education, leisure, and personal development.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships and providing emotional support.
  • Encouraging independence and life skills development.
  • Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner.
  • Leading shifts and mentoring staff when required.
  • Ensuring the home maintains high standards of care, safety, and safeguarding.
  • Working closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to deliver holistic care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential).
  • Resilience, patience, and a caring approach.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
