Therapeutic Support Worker

Job Description

Annual leave: 30 days (including bank holidays)
Rota: 8am – 11pm + sleep-in (2–3 shifts per week, with rest days in between)

About the Home

We are working with a supportive children’s residential home in Faversham, providing care for young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and complex needs. The home operates as part of a therapeutic community, where relationships, consistency, and reflective practice form the foundation of care.

The Role

As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting young people to recover, grow, and develop within a safe and structured environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver a trauma-informed, therapeutic model of care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building trusting, positive relationships with young people
  • Supporting emotional regulation and promoting resilience
  • Working collaboratively within a therapeutic framework
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional practice
  • Contributing to reflective practice and team development

Rota and Expectations

  • Shifts: 8am – 11pm + sleep-in
  • Working 2–3 shifts per week with days off in between
  • 6 sleep-ins per month included in salary
  • Additional sleep-ins paid at £60 each

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Experienced in working with young people who have experienced trauma (desirable)
  • Reflective and open to therapeutic approaches
  • Able to work flexibly as part of a dedicated, supportive team

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – desirable, or willingness to work towards it
