About the Role:
You’ll be managing a 4-bed home that provides therapeutic residential care to young people with complex needs, focusing on recovery from trauma and supporting positive futures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading your team to deliver individualised care plans addressing social, emotional, educational, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs
- Recruiting and developing a highly skilled and compassionate staff team
- Creating a positive, safe culture where young people feel valued and supported
- Ensuring the home consistently meets or exceeds Ofsted standards, with a minimum expectation of achieving “Good”
- Managing safeguarding, child protection, and quality of care in the home
- Working in partnership with families, local authorities, and external agencies to promote the best outcomes for young people
- Effectively managing the home’s budget and resources to ensure sustainability
What You’ll Need:
- A strong passion for improving the lives of young people in care
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role within the last 5 years
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to enrol within 6 months
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted Quality Standards, SCCIF, and safeguarding legislation
- Skilled in leadership, team development, planning, and resource management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A sound understanding of the needs of young people affected by trauma, including those with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Full UK driving licence
